I commend the authors for bringing out a concise comprehensive book on the entire spectrum of stroke. The authors begin the book with the epidemiology and risk factors of stroke which are well covered. The clinical syndromes of stroke are short and very informative. The chapter on non-imaging investigations is well written. The differential diagnosis, medical and surgical management are well presented. The topic on prevention of ischemic stroke is very descriptive and focuses on the recent literature. The readers will benefit from the simple bedside techniques explained with photographs in the neuro-rehabilitation section. The authors conclude the book with two important topics, one on establishing stroke center and the other on the details of major stroke trials.

Overall, this is a valuable handbook for medical students, nurses, allied health professionals, post graduates, physicians, and neurologists.
