Robotic-assisted spine surgery increased in the last decade around the world. The main advantage offered by the robot is increased precision of the screw placement. However, the cost-effectiveness of using the robot in resource-limited settings is yet to be studied. Many studies clearly showed the increased precision rate of the robotic-assisted screw placement compared to the conventional free-hand technique, especially in complex spinal deformities. In this supplement, various articles delineated the advantages and disadvantages of robotic assistance in spine surgery.
