Hematoxylin and eosin staining (A) revealed a distinct pituitary adenoma (a) with monomorphic basophilic cells separate from the normal gland (n) that demonstrated a more polymorphic appearance with acinar architecture. Loss or normal acinar architecture (n) in the adenoma (a) is also highlighted in reticulin stained specimen (B).
