Figure 7: 47-year-old male presented with back pain since 9 months. MRI showed irregularity of endplate changes at L4-5 level on T2, T1 W images (a and b) and enhancement of the L4-5 intervertebral disc on post-contrast T1 image (arrow in c). Associated degenerative changes in the form of disc protrusions were noted at all levels in the lumbar spine MRI. CT of the lumbar spine (d) demonstrated air/vacuum phenomenon at L4-5, L5-S1 discs. Bone biopsy (e) was done and histopathology showed no infection |
